This was quite an unusual project – but a very necessary one from a health and safety point of view. Poor initial construction had meant that these four flats needed to be stripped right down and built back up from scratch, as the original build didn’t meet regulations, had no fire precautions built in and had used out-of date-cement – very poor show!
The project went way beyond the normal remedial works, especially because every stage we tackled just seemed to uncover more problems. We had to remove the masonry and roof, replace ceilings and bathrooms – a total rebuild project.
We worked in close conjunction with a building surveyor throughout the course of this project, to make sure that all required safety features were covered and that every stage of the construction met with building regulations.
